NÍ RAIBH fear an Daily Telegraph róthógtha le foghraíocht Ghaeilge Bharack Obama ná róchruinn ina léamh ar shuim phobal na hÉireann ina dteanga dhúchais. “Almost any other visitor who mauled the Irish language so severely might expect a reception as cold as the waters of the Liffey,” a scríobh an fear ón Telegraph . Mheasas go raibh an méid sin ábhairín ródhian ar fhoghraíocht Bharack ach is...

Tuarascáil: NÍL A fhios agam an bhfoghlaimíonn daltaí dara leibhéal nó mic léinn tríú leibhéal mórán in aon chor faoin impiriúlachas teanga. Go deimhin, is an-annamh ina ábhar cainte é sna meáin chumarsáide agus ní fheicimse mórán leabhar ina thaobh sna siopaí leabhar ach an oiread. Is ait liom sin, go háirithe agus cónaí orainn i dtír iarchoilíneach. Cén céatadán de dhaonra na hÉireann nó de...

The secret of success to Irish language →
I am always amazed at how bad most of the population are at speaking Irish. The easiest assumption to make is that successive Governments have put a lot of effort into killing the language, while pretending to preserve it. I have never had any time for Gaeilgeoir mafia types, or for people who see Irish as a total waste of time that prevents us speaking several modern European languages. The...

Groups from across the entire area were involved in an Irish festival day, with an array of events held across the peninsula as part of a challenge set by a TG4 programme to transform the seaside spot into a Gaeltacht.
